| There are several ways that you may satisfy
the requirements for your DRE (Department of Real Estate) license
renewal. They are: home study, outside schools, on-line courses
and video training. Here are some details on the requirements and
options that you can follow.
18 MONTH CONDITIONAL LICENSES:
You will need to take two (2) college level courses from the
following list: Appraisal, Practice, Finance, Law, Office Administration,
Property Management, Economics. Contact schools directly for
course information. SRCAR can proctor exams free for REALTOR® members.
1ST TIME 4 YEAR LICENSE RENEWALS:
You will need to take 4 mandated courses (Agency, Ethics, Fair
Housing & Trust Funds) for a total of 12 units. THE SUMMARY
COURSE DOES NOT SATISFY THIS REQUIREMENT. Materials from the
CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R.) or other schools
can be ordered. SRCAR can proctor exams free for REALTOR® members.
4 YEAR LICENSE RENEWALS (NOT 1ST TIME) Agents & Brokers:
You will need a total of 45 hours of continuing education. You
can take it all in one course package or individual courses that
total 45 hours but it must include: a minimum of 18 hours in
Consumer Protection, the remaining hours can be either Consumer
Service or Consumer Protection and the four mandated courses
(Agency, Ethics, Fair Housing & Trust Funds) in a summary
course (6 hours).
