Joe McGowan, 2012 Chairman of Board and the Southwest Riverside County Association of Realtors® have numerous openings for volunteers to serve in assisting the Association in moving forward with its goals and objectives. If you would like to be considered for an appointment for 2012, please complete this document and return it to the Association office as soon as possible but not later than November 30, 2011. You must be a REALTOR® or an Affiliate member in good standing with SRCAR to be considered.

preferences in priority order.)

Standing Committees –
- Affiliates – provides support for various association activities including speakers at orientation; coordinates all aspects of the annual Holiday Food Drive with the local schools as well as all benefiting community groups – must be an Affiliate in good standing to participate.
- Finance – Standing committee of the Association; members must be a REALTOR® and in good standing with SRCAR; Function of the committee is to review finances of all corporations of the organization including annual budgets and investments and make recommendations to the appropriate Board of Directors for action.
- Grievance – Standing committee of the Association; members must be a SRCAR REALTOR® and in good standing; be active in the real estate industry with either a Broker or Salesperson license for a minimum of 3 years; Function of the committee is to 1) review the complaint to insure the proper articles & sections are cited based on the alleged facts and 2) screen complaints in order to prevent abuse and harassment through frivolous or unwarranted complaints filed for harassment purposes. The committee initially considers allegations of unethical conduct or violations of the MLS rules. The Grievance Committee does not determine guilt or innocence.(* in order to be considered for an appointment to the Grievance Committee, REALTORS® must attend a special all-day training course to be offered in February in Riverside)
- Professional Standards - Standing committee of the Association; members must be a SRCAR REALTOR® in good standing; members must have at least two years minimum of service on the Grievance Committee with either a Broker or Salesperson license; Function of the committee is to conduct disciplinary and arbitration hearings. (* in order to be considered for an appointment to the Professional Standards Committee, REALTORS® must attend a special all-day training course to be offered in February in Riverside)
Special Committees or Task Forces:
- Education/Training – Work with Association staff to establish a calendar of education and training seminars and courses benefiting the needs and wants of the membership including a possible “rookie” program.
- Election Task Force – Function of the task force is count the ballots and certify the election for the Board of Director positions. Meets annually at the SRCAR Annual Membership Meeting. Members who serve on this task force are unable to serve on the Nominating committee.
- Legislative Liaison – Function of the liaison is to provide communication between the local, state and national associations and the real estate office on all legislative issues. Must have a valid e-mail address and contribute annually to Political Action. Meets as needed.
- Marketing Meetings – Function of the task force is to provide support at the Marketing Meetings as well as promotes this event to the membership. Meets as needed.
- MLS – Function of the task force is to work with Association staff and leaders to improve the entire MLS system structure including the computer as well as education.
- Nominating – Function of the task force is to recruit and selects candidates for the Board of Directors and hosts Candidates Forum; Must be an SRCAR REALTOR® in good standing; No member of this special committee may be a candidate for the Board of Directors. Meets as needed prior to the election of the Board of Directors (usually held in July). Members who serve on this special committee are unable to serve on the Election Task Force.
- Orientation – Function of the task force is to coordinate and host quarterly orientation programs for new SRCAR REALTOR® members. Task force meets quarterly and/or as needed.
- Scholarship Foundation Fundraiser – Function of the task force is to coordinate and host annual fundraiser to benefit the SRCAR Scholarships.
- Strategic Planning – Function of the task force is to review and update current Strategic Plan for the Southwest Riverside County Association of REALTORS®
- Property Management Task Force - Function of the task force on property issues, analyzing market conditions, rent control issues, local housing issues, property owners, government affairs issues, education.
- Commercial Committee - Function of the Committee is to review to support the Commercial Professionals by sponsoring network opportunities, education & progressive resources. The Committee will monitor, review, analyzes and formulate policies on trends affecting the commercial and investment segments of the real estate market.
- Young Professionals Network Committee - Standing committee of the Association; members must be a SRCAR REALTOR® and/or Affiliates, must be in good standing; Meets once a month and/or as needed. YPN is a network of like-minded young professionals dedicated to the progression and enrichment of the real estate industry.
